From the humble beginnings of "Unconventional Minnesota" emerges "Unconventional Midwest"!

class war dude

On Sunday March 2nd, following a tiring day of workshops and networking. Folks from all over the mid-west gathered at the Jack Pine community center to work out solid proposals for unconventional Minnesota. This posed a problem. Although Minnesotans had a major presence, over 50% of the people in attendance we’re from neighboring states. Given this fact, it didn’t seem neighborly to continue on with such a state important conversation.

Upon realizing this, the decision was made to create a separate network formed from autonomous groups that would compliment the work local DNC/RNC organizers and form strong/broad alliances amongst our state confined comrades.

We dubbed it, "Unconventional Mid-West".

Post decision, the idea of regional/state specific RNC/DNC outreach tours (amongst other ideas) were brought up and quickly consensed upon. The idea behind regional/state specific outreach tours is to bring the RNC/DNC strategies to communities that otherwise wouldn’t be exposed to them, and potentially radicalize those folks by giving them a clear strategy they can plug into.

Unconventional Mid-West is calling for mid-western groups to create DNC/RNC outreach tours primarily in their home state as well as others if they feel they have the capacity to do so.
